She has been infected by an illithid parasite, that under normal circumstances would turn her to a mind flayer. However, due to the circumstances of canon, that process has been halted, and instead leaves her with access to illithid powers - most critically, the ability to reach into the minds of other infected, and also to read the thoughts of the uninfected, should she choose to.

• Half-elf: As a half-elf, Fever has a few advantages she was born with. From her elven blood, she has advantage against being charmed by magic, and magic cannot put her to sleep. It also gifts her darkvision up to twelve meters - though colors cannot be perceived, only grays. Being a wood half-elf specifically, she's fleet of foot, and blends in well with her surroundings - being stealthy comes easier to her.
• Armory: Fever's grown accustomed to a variety of weaponry in her time, and knows her way around things like spears, glaives, and halberds that will keep the enemy at a distance. Though if given the choice, she favors staffs to complement her magic and a shield to protect her. A dagger or equivalent is never far from her grasp, and she knows how to use a simple crossbow when needed. She's able to fight in light armor, but anything heavier slows her down, and she prefers the clothing and robes that offer more benefit to casters.
